1967 – 2021
Richard George Hamaoui, age 53, passed away on April 5th, 2021, after a valiant struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Richard was born in Beirut, Lebanon on June 18th, 1967. He is survived by his 3 children (Samantha, Alexis and Nicholas), his 2 grandsons (Lincoln and Logan), his sister (Rita), brother-in-law (Rafik) and niece and nephew (Rikki and Rafaël). He was preceded in passing by his father (Mounir Hamaoui) and his mother (Victorine Eid). Richard is a Riverdale High School alumnus, and one of the founders of the St-Lazare Stallions football league.
His family would like to thank those that stuck by him through the difficult times, and extend their love to those that have lost touch over the years. They request that Richard be remembered in the way he would have preferred; coaching on the football field every Saturday, sitting around campfires with friends until dawn at Music Fest, and showing off his grilling skills at every pool party and family gathering. He maintained a candid attitude throughout the progression of his illness and would have wanted us to do the same in his passing.
Due to COVID restrictions, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life limited to close friends and family. In lieu of physical condolences, please send memorial donations to The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Société de recherche sur le cancer (www.societederecherchesurlecancer.ca) seraient appréciés.
